About our concrete contractor company in Hayward

Wide concrete driveway with expansion joints leads to a large brick-and-stone house with wooden garage doors.

Our story started on a flatwork crew

I learned concrete on a flatwork crew when I was young. Flatwork is the driveways, patios, walks and other slabs you stand or park on. Then I spent years away from the trade doing other work. I came back in 2017 and started this business in Hayward, partly because I missed it and partly because I'd driven past enough bad slabs. You know the ones: driveway panels that sink, patios that pool water against the house, cracks that run wherever they like.

Most of our calls come from homeowners and small property owners who've put a job off longer than they'd like to admit. No judgment. The concrete waited, and it can wait while we talk. What I care about is the part you can't see once it's poured, because most concrete problems start underneath or before the truck ever shows up. Everything we build is on our home page, and the contact page is where you send us the details of your job.

Our values show up on every slab

Here's what you'll notice from the first visit to the final walk-through. Most of it happens before the pour, because that's where a concrete job usually goes right or wrong.

  • You deal with me the whole way

I come out to look at the job and measure it myself, and I'm on site running our crew when we pour, so nothing gets lost between a salesman and the people doing the work. If your job needs a permit, we find out whether the city or the county issues it for your address and file it, and if the work touches the street or the public sidewalk, we plan the start date around the city's review.

  • Estimates that show what's underneath

Our written estimate spells out the prep and the steel, the base we dig out and pack under the slab and the rebar that holds it together if it cracks, so you can compare bids on more than the bottom line. The base is the first thing people want to cut because nobody sees it on day one. It's the last thing I'll cut, because a slab poured on raked dirt settles with the dirt.

  • A straight answer about cracks

Concrete cracks, and I'd rather tell you that now than explain it later. We plan control joints, the grooves cut across a slab to give it a straight place to crack, and we cut them on time so the cracks land where we chose instead of across the middle of your driveway.

Licensing and insurance for concrete work

  • California contractor license

The California Contractors State License Board requires a license for work that builds or alters a structure when the job needs a building permit, uses any hired workers or comes to $1,000 or more in labor and materials across one or more contracts. We're fully licensed and insured.
